In 1915, a young Frank Donaldson Sr., then a Bull Tractor Company salesman, visited a customer whose farm tractor kept breaking down in his dusty field. He fashioned an air cleaner to protect the engine from the dust. The invention, the world’s first effective air cleaner for a tractor engine, worked, and Donaldson Company was born. The Donaldson Filtration company began in a Minnesota metal shop with Frank, his father, W.H.L., and his brother Bob. CDA Systems has partnered with Donaldson to deliver Donaldson® P-EG stainless steel gas/steam filter housings to our customers. These filter housings are designed for purification of compressed air, technical gases and steam. Equipped with NPT thread or flange connections, depending on size, the Donaldson® P-EG stainless steel gas/steam filter housings have an electro-polished or bead-blast surface finish. They also yield low differential pressure at high flow rates.
P Donaldson® P-EG stainless steel gas/steam filter housings can be customized to your specific requirements. They come in 18 sizes with a capacity range from 35 SCFM to 12,700 SCFM at 100 PSIG. They also have optional connections that adapt the filter to your specific requirements.

Donaldson has created Donaldson® P-FF, P-MF, and P-SMF coalescing depth filters for the removal of water, oil aerosols and solid particles from compressed air and gases with absolute retention efficiency. These coalescing depth filters use a three-dimensional micro fiber fleece made from binder-free glass fiber. A 1 µm pre-filter medium is integrated and allows for effective two-stage filtration. It utilizes various filtration mechanisms including impaction, sieving, and diffusion, liquid aerosols, and solid particles. Particles reduced to the size of 0.01 µm are being retained in the filter.

Donaldson® PE filter elements contain highly porous sintered polyethylene filter media. Even the finest dust particles and other contaminants in compressed air and gases are being removed effectively on the surface and in the depth of the filter medium. Surface loading allows users to regenerate the Donaldson® PE filter element and reduce operating cost through fewer element change-outs.
By utilizing various filtration mechanisms such as direct impaction and mechanical sieving, particles are retained with an absolute retention rate in gases. Chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, plastic, food, beverage, general machine fabrication, and instrument and control air industries and applications utilize the Donaldson® PE, PEP, and P-PE filter elements.
