The SPX Flow Hankison HGS & HPE Series Condensate Separators Selectively Target Lubricants to Ensure Successful Separation
SPX Flow Hankison HGS Series Targets Demulsible Lubricants “Gravity Separation” Condensate Separators are ideal for specific applications that use a single lubricant and rapidly separate in <5 minutes into two distinct layers. Excellent candidates for the SPX Flow Hankison HGS Series tend to be proprietary PAO (polyalphaolefin) based lubricants marketed by compressor manufacturers.
The SPX Flow Hankison HGS Separators use a large tank of water that allows separable lubricant to float to the surface. Incoming condensate displaces cleaner water from the bottom to flow through a bed of activated carbon to remove trace lubricant to 15 PPM.
SPX Flow Hankison HPE Series Targets Emulsified Lubricants “Polar Extraction” Condensate Separators are preferred for applications that use multiple lubricants that in the end don’t separate well. Originally designed for homogenous Polyglycol (PAG) based polar formulations like SSR Ultra Coolant® and Sullube 32®, HPE Series separators have excelled in tough applications with mixed lubricants from a variety of compressor stations.
SPX Flow Hankison HPE Series Condensate Separators use specially coated zeolite establishing a polar magnetic field that selectively targets positive and negatively charged lubricant molecules. The polar lubricant molecules are attracted to the charged surface and bond to the opposite magnetic pole and are removed from the condensate. As water is neutral, it slips through the Absorption Module unimpeded to deliver <15 PPM to sanitary sewer.

The SPX Flow Hankison provides flow from 75 SCFM to 550 SCFM, 127 M3/H to 935 M3/H, the SPX Flow Hankison FLEX Series dryers automatically cycle (on/off) the refrigeration compressor in response to inlet load conditions. When the inlet air load is reduced, the power requirement to dry the air is matched in proportion to the demand. At 60% inlet air load, a non-cycling dryer consumes 96% of the full load power consumption ad 4% energy savings. By comparison, at 60% inlet air load, the FLEX Series consumes only 60% of the full load power, a 40% energy savings.
